We understand that every child is unique and has their own specific needs. We understand that developmental and behavioral issues impact all aspects of a child's life including at home and school and while participating in activities in the community.
Dr. Elrod has been practicing medicine for over 20 years and is dedicated to providing the highest quality care to her patients. She is a retired Navy Captain decorated for her service as both an Undersea Medical Officer and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician serving military-connected children worldwide. She is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, a Marshall Scholar with a degree from Cambridge University, and a graduate of The Ohio State University School of Medicine and Medical Scientist Program with a combined MD-PhD degree. She completed her pediatric residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego and her fellowship in Developmental- Behavioral Pediatrics at Madigan Army Medical Center and the University of Washington. She is board certified in both General Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.
Dr. Elrod is passionate about helping children access services and supports to help them thrive. She believes that the world needs all kinds of minds.
She is also the mother of two awesome kids, a soccer player and coach, and a Red Cross volunteer.
Christine has been a practicing Registered Nurse since 2006. She graduated from Tidewater Community College with her Associates Degree in Applied Sciences and earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Western Governors University. She has worked in various aspects of pediatric bedside nursing, as a nurse educator, and a PACU nurse. She also has 10 years of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician prior to her nursing career.
Although she has worked in an array of specialties, pediatrics has always been her true passion and calling. She has extensive personal experience with advocating for special needs children including in the educational setting.
Christine is a mother of two amazing children, and spends her free time volunteering with the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and PTA.
We offer developmental evaluations including assessments for autism spectrum disorders. This includes review of prior records and forms, in person interview and testing, discussion of recommendations, and the provision of a comprehensive report. Ongoing developmental and behavioral care is also available.
